Is it the Indian or the arrow?

Both.

After shooting for the last 15 years with a majority of the tens of thousands of rounds down the pipe on Glock pistols I was convinced this was the only pistol I needed. I laughed and poked fun at those people spending thousands of dollars on these “gucci” 2011’s and what not. Maybe I was disillusioned by my own skill or just ignorant but what I discovered a platform which provided me with a more pleasant and accurate shooting experience.
The Staccato XC has entered the chat. Purchased with my hard earned money with absolutely no consideration from the company.

Lets start at the beginning. A side by side comparison of my beloved Glock 17 and Staccato XC.

In-Depth Breakdown

Accuracy & Control

  • Staccato XC: Tuned for ultimate performance. The compensator, tuned trigger, and weight make it almost feel like cheating in terms of recoil and follow-up shots.
  • Glock 17: Combat-accurate, but not a competition gun out of the box. Less forgiving trigger and more muzzle flip.
Reliability
  • Glock 17: Known for tank-like reliability under all conditions.
  • Staccato XC: Very reliable, but as a performance pistol, it demands regular maintenance.
Trigger
  • Staccato: Ultra-light, crisp, short reset — among the best in any handgun.
  • Glock: Functional but gritty compared to a 2011. Many upgrade the trigger.
Customization
  • Glock: Massive aftermarket (triggers, slides, barrels, etc.).
  • Staccato: Fewer third-party mods, but already comes race-ready.
Value
  • Glock 17: Unmatched value for reliability and performance at ~$600.
  • Staccato XC: Luxury performance pistol; price reflects materials, tuning, and precision.
The only speed bump in making a decision is convincing your wallet to release the funds. The minute I ran the first mag through the XC I immediately knew, in that glorious moment this chunk of metal in my hand would forever change my perspective.

This 2011 platform needs no fancy marketing jargon, simply put, every design element works in harmony to maximize accuracy and overall shooting experience.

Fast forward 1500 rounds, zero cleaning or oil applied with zero malfunctions I have discovered a lot about not only this platform but the way to shoot it efficiently. You inherently end up gripping a polymer pistol with all of your might to mitigate that recoil. With the XC, you just have to apply a minimal amount of hand pressure and let the pistol do all of the hard work. I cannot describe how impressive this experience is you simply have to find out for yourself.
